Hatha Yoga

Our approach to hatha yoga integrates elements of the Iyengar and Astanga yoga systems, emphasizing organic alignment, cultivating awareness of body and mind and moving with a deep awareness of the breath. All sessions include asana, pranayama, concentration practices as well as meditation and deep relaxation.

Asana practice opens and aligns the body and develops balance, coordination, and strength. It purifies the organs, releasing toxins and improving digestion. It frees and expands the breath, improves concentration and alleviates physical and mental stress, creating a profound sense of ease within the body.

Regular practice cultivates bodily health, mental focus and spiritual awareness. By creating greater bodily awareness, yoga guides us on an inward journey, awakening the bodyÕs innate physical, emotional and spiritual wisdom. It is the wellspring of this wisdom that allows us to live in balance and harmony with the world around us.

Based on the present needs of the individual sessions can be vigorous or restorative. We teach all levels from absolute beginners to advanced yogis who wish to refine their practice.
